CONFEDERATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

I MEMBERSHIP FEES

Article 1- Amount :

Each member deposits one euro per associate member belonging to its association, to the European Music Therapy Confederation. 

Article 2- Recoverability

All membership fees are recoverable on the basis of the fiscal year and will be required by the first of January of the coming year.

II GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Article 3- Representatives of the members

3.1            Each member chooses a representative for the Association according to their own procedures.

3.2            The representatives of the members based in the same country, form amongst them a national delegation for the association.

3.3            Then, the members of the delegation must proceed, according to the procedure that they determine, to elect a single and unique representative for the association.

3.4            The elected national representative has the right to vote.

3.5            Every country, through its national representative, has, as a consequence, a right to vote equal to the others, whatever the number of members based in the same country and whatever its number of associate members.

3.6    The rule, according to which each national representative possesses a single and unique vote in the International Association, no matter the number of members he/she represents, is not subject to exceptions.

Article 4- Chairman of the meetings:

The President of the Board, or in his/her absence, one of the Vice-Presidents, chairs the meetings of the General Assembly.

III BOARD

Article 5- Candidates :

5.1    The candidates will be nominated by the active members to which they belong.

5.2    Each active member nominates his/ her candidate during the General Assembly of which the agenda includes the designation of the members of the Board.

5.3    The candidate must be a music therapist with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

Article 6- Elections :

6.1    The candidates nominated by the active members must be elected by the absolute majority of votes.

6.2    If one or more candidates do not obtain the absolute majority, the relevant members present a new candidate in agreement with the delegation leaders representing the other active members.

6.3    The new candidate(s) must be elected by absolute majority.

IV – GENERAL RULES

Article 7- Voting Rules

In all cases concerned by the bylaws as by these confederation rules, abstentions will be considered as expressed votes and therefore cannot put in question the different quorums concerned by the acts previously mentioned.

Even though abstentions are not counted in the context of voting with relative majority, they must be considered when a qualified majority (2/3 or ¾) or an absolute majority is required.

Article 8- Working Language

The working language of the association is English.
